Code Red Racing is proud to offer an alternative solution to customers looking to utilize an Alien Cowl on their 3L mercury engine platform.
 
Mercury Exhaust Boot 848817 is NLA through mercury and its dealers and can be extremely difficult to source second hand. Without this boot many users have melted their cowling pan due to exhaust gas coming out of there exhaust adapter plate. This will also affect engine not utilizing this boot can also affect engine idle. 
 
The Code Red Racing and Design 300x Exhaust Boot offers a new solution to the NLA exhaust boot. Our proprietary design discards of the flexible rubber and utilizes a nylon carbon hybrid filament capable of withstanding the high exhaust gas temperatures seen on the 3L Mercury platform. The rigid exhaust boot clips in the exhaust adapter plate and is held in place by also clipping on to the cowling skirt.  
 
The 300x Exhaust boot comes with (1) Main exhaust boot and (1) Skirt Clip. No additional hardware is required for installation. Installation can be performed without removing the cowling pan. Some customers may choose to use silicone to secure the exhaust boot in the exhaust plate.
